If I do not live in Texas can I still get HELP’s services?
Absolutely. HELP works with students all over the US and throughout the world. We are able to work with students in person or remotely via Internet video chat, phone, or email.

All of our students, regardless of location, benefit from our unique methodology and team approach. We have found that students who work with us remotely have proven to be equally as successful as students who meet with their counselor in person. If you prefer one-on-one personal assistance, our counselors do travel, and are able to meet with students wherever they are.

Does HELP only work with a certain type of student?
NO. HELP welcomes the opportunity to work with all students and their families. Our goal is to use our knowledge and experience to make getting into, through, and maximizing your high school and college experiences smooth, informative and rewarding. Our HELP scholars represent many different academic, extracurricular, and cultural backgrounds. Each student has unique goals and we focus on finding the fit that will foster their individual personal, academic, and career pathways to success.

Do counselors meet with students on weekends or at night?
Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM CST. However, we can arrange evening and weekend appointments as necessary and our counselors can work with students virtually through online mediums such as Google Hangouts, Skype, etc. We can accommodate varying schedules, in all time zones, and pride ourselves on our availability to be accessible and as accommodating as possible.

I would like to schedule a consultation as soon as possible. How soon can I get an appointment? And what do I need?
Prior to the consultation, we will need you to provide us with information about your student or yourself. The links below will take you to the surveys to submit your information.

I just have a few questions. Can I talk to a counselor without an Initial Consultation?
HELP’s guidance depends on factors and information unique to your student and his/her academic and personal history and goals. Therefore, we need to do a thorough review of your student’s history in order to provide accurate advice and comprehensive answers to your questions. Hence, we do not provide advice or guidance without an Initial Consultation. You are welcome to ask your counselor specific questions during the Initial Consultation.

When should my child start working with HELP?
HELP’s college-bound and student success programs begin in middle school and continues through graduate/professional school. HELP believes in “the earlier, the better” and “sustained engagement”when working with students. Our early guidance programs for middle and high school students will allow your student to get a head start on their college and career readiness journey. While, we recommend that students begin as early as possible, but we are happy to accommodate students at any point throughout the process.

Can you give me the names and phone numbers of families you have worked with so I can talk to them about working with you?
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate this request. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance to us and our families and we do not release identifying information about our families unless expressly granted. Of course, you can expect the same level of confidentiality as a HELP family client. We understand that you may want to hear from former families first-hand and we have provided student and parent testimonials on our website for this purpose. Moreover, “education is individual,” so each student’s situation is different. HELP would be able to answer any question you have in much more detail concerning your individual students needs.

Can I afford HELP?
In this competitive college environment, you cannot afford not to get HELP! That being said, at HELP students are our number one priority and we strive to find the best fit for your student. We offer flexible payment options and while we stress our comprehensive year long service plans, we have the opportunity to customize your student’s program to fit their needs and your budget. Our goal is to help your family and make the most of the HELP experience for your student.
